Working at Obton
Impacting future generations through solar energy. Together.
It makes sense. Work with purpose.
Solar plants don't build themselves. We need to invest if we want to contribute towards a greener world. Everyone who invests with us is helping to create better opportunities for making these investments happen.
It's as simple as spelling out the word "s-u-n" to see the connection between the core product and sustainability. But there are also a number of other elements in our working day that make sense in other ways.
We believe that a healthy feedback culture, focus on work-life balance, appreciation, benefits etc. help to create a sustainable environment in a broader perspective.
Obton's solar plants produce green electricity for thousands of European citizens every year.
Our core product is sustainable and in our view, consistently meaningful. It's an obvious opportunity for us to participate actively in the UN's 17 Global Goals, as our work is a direct extension of the sustainable development goal.
Our culture
There is something special about being one of more than 300 colleagues with very different work tasks, divided across several floors and office locations around the world – and still with an atmosphere of team spirit, driven personalities and a feeling of cohesion.
We are a company that has grown rapidly in recent years. In 2021 alone we welcomed 100 new employees to the Group, and 2022 isn't much different. This puts a great toll on how we can maintain the special dynamic and energy that has existed since the start.
So, how do we continue our great working culture? It's quite simple - we don't let it out of sight.
We are good at celebrating our successes while also setting new ambitious goals for the future. But most importantly, when we welcome a new colleague, we know that our new colleague matches our values and culture.

It is important for us as a workplace to achieve work-life balance. You must live our core values and give it your best at work. but it should be so great to be here at work that you return home with energy and a smile on your face

A common winning culture
By 'culture' we also mean how we speak, feel and act in our daily work. Respect and cooperation are necessary conditions for the general well-being in the workplace, which is why there are two integral elements in the way we work together at Obton.
We have a strong common winning culture that shines through everything we do, and which we are very proud of. The competence level at Obton is high, and we are characterised by a hunger to create results and to continuously be bigger, better and stronger.
We also place focus on having fun together and in our work, as it is energy and passion in the work and in the company that brings us results.
We think it's important that everyone contributes towards a good, positive culture. At Obton we support each other and take advantage of our differences in the best way we can.
We give people opportunities
We strive to have the brightest and most skilled employees. We make this happen by creating opportunities for our employees for them to develop.
We always ask what drives you and what makes you happy in your work when we hold job interviews at Obton. We believe that this is key to successful employees.
It's also why we are very conscious of accommodating employees' wishes for development when you start to notice them. Over time, most people experience the desire to try new things.
We are receptive to this, and take pride in living up to the statement "We give people new opportunities".

Professional and personal developement
At Obton, we listen to your wishes for professional and personal development. This comes into play during our 1:1 interviews and quarterly performance appraisals, but regardless of when, it's always okay to discuss your dreams and ambitions for the future with your manager.
We also offer a number of courses for our employees and leadership training for our managers. We do this because we believe that by listening and being open to new opportunities you get the strongest employees, who realise that they can develop their potential without having to move workplaces.
For example, a student assistant became a communications officer, a telemarketing assistant is now an IT consultant, and an operations controller is now our transaction specialist.
