"We give people opportunities"
We have a motto here at Obton: "We give people opportunities" But what does this actually mean, and why is it important? You can find the answer here.
"We give people opportunities" is not just a fancy slogan or an empty platitude. We really mean it, and we deliver it in our organisation," says Obton's Chief Human Ressource Officer, Andreas Jakobsen.
"We have countless examples where our employees have had the opportunity to develop and grow in line with the company. It has plenty of advantages," he points out, continuing:
"We are crazy about employees' potential for mobility in the company. An internal shift in the organisation helps to bring in new knowledge, break down silos and create better cohesion, which is necessary in a fast-growing company.
"Development also gives happy and satisfied employees, who can see themselves working for the company for many years. This really benefits both the employee and our company. This is why it's also part of our retention strategy and a central point for our managers that we always have our finger on the pulse in terms of where our employees are in their lives," says our Chie Human Ressouce Officer.

Matching values is essential
In Obton's People & Culture department, the staff are highly focused on ensuring that the values of our new employees match Obton's own values.
"We hire for attitude and train for skills. We believe that you can always prepare an employee to take on new tasks or a new position as long as the person has the right attitude and the correct set of values. Which is why we have many examples of an employee who starts working one place in the company but moves to new challenges when a need in the Group arises. "It's win-win for all parties," concludes Andreas Jakobsen
