Ambassador corps ready to give everyone a five-star reception
It could be a box of chocolate, a letter or some flowers. For us, it's the whole person ...
We want to make sure that you get a five-star reception when you get onboard as a new colleague at Obton.
Several great committed people at Obton have said yes to a little extra responsibility to make this happen, and although they might look just like us, now they can also add the title of 'cultural ambassador' to their CV.
Each time we onboard a new colleague, we assigned a cultural ambassador, who from day one helps to give them the best possible reception and start-up at Obton.
The idea behind it:
1.
The better the employees are onboarded at their new workplace, the greater the satisfaction they will typically gain from their new position – and contribution to the culture in the company.
The latter is one of the topics that stands at the top of our priorities list, precisely because we are growing at the pace we are. As a new member of our team, it will probably not be long before the next new faces arrive.
2.
We want to accommodate all the big and small questions that inevitably get asked when you settle into a new workplace: name, organisational structure and 'the usual' are essential pieces of information that very few can learn by heart in their first day on the job.
There are no stupid questions, and everyone is ready to help – but it could still be nice to have access to an experienced colleague if you are in doubt.
3.
A good start is half the battle, so we will do everything we can to ensure that our newest colleague feels like part of the team even before he or she meets up on their first day.
This is why we send a video greeting from the cultural ambassador as part of our welcome mail, so that you don't only see new faces when you first set foot on the premises.
4.
Last but not least, the cultural ambassador scheme is an indirect expression of the fact that we really want to help each other. Not just when we're constructing or operating Solar PV plants or finding new investors, but also when we sit together at lunch or meet by the coffee machine.
