Meet Hans Peter Vestergaard

What is your job function in the company?

In short, it's my responsibility to ensure that we make the right acquisitions.

I work in Obton's procurement department and draw up budgets for new and potential projects, among other things. Previously, I've had the responsibility for the operation of the solar parks in Obton's portfolio, and I draw on this experience today when I work with the earlier stages of the procurement process and assess which projects have potential and also live up to our requirements.

 

Why did you choose to join us at Obton?

I was working with solar and wind energy at another company when I was contacted by Obton's founders, Anders and Peter. They asked whether I wanted to help build up Obton, and it was an offer I couldn't refuse.

 

Why are you still here today – more than ten years later?

I'm still here because there is room to develop, we can make decisions quickly, and we take good care of our employees.

 

What is your special focus in your job?

I want to help to put Obton – and therefore also solar power – on the world map.
Over the last 15 years, I have been part of solar power's development, but I still believe that we've just seen the beginning. There is big potential in solar energy, and I'm pleased to help prove it.

 

What's the best thing about Obton as a workplace?

What's best is our way of running a business, where people can develop quickly.
